DBU Academy Licensing Raises Domestic Competition Standards
Source context
As DBU licensing scores rise and competition structures adapt, how do developmental environments translate organizational ratings into observable pitch performance?
DBU’s Talentudvalg has awarded talent development licences to 44 clubs for the 2026–2028 period, with 36 clubs improving their overall licensing score compared to the previous cycle. The federation connects this institutional progress with domestic first-team opportunities for young talent and simultaneous qualification for the men's U17 and U19 European Championship final tournaments. Furthermore, a restructured Ungdoms-DM comprising 16 clubs in Ligaen and 16 in Divisionen, alongside a 44-club U16 Cup, commences July 1 ahead of a new talent strategy planned for 2027.
